We’ve been busy and have a bit of catch up to do on sharing birth announcements! Birth doesn’t always end up being at the birth center, but we still count each family and baby as part of our community and we provide the same postpartum care and support for the parents and baby after birth
Thank you to Sumi and Dylan for sharing photos and this story of their experience!
“When we initially made our decisions regarding care and birth location, Our Community Birth Center was not yet open, but when it did open we decided to switch from our OB/hospital plan to working with AlexAnn at OCBC. While the decision was not easy, what ultimately swayed us was the comforting, personal, and professional care that AlexAnn could provide, combined with the homey, relaxing, and down-to-earth feel of the birth center. We loved that we could contact AlexAnn and the center directly with questions or concerns. Appointments never felt rushed and we always felt well taken care of. Plans changed and our baby boy, Raveen, decided to make an early debut at 36.4 weeks so we weren’t able to give birth at the birth center, but AlexAnn was with us through the multi-day labor process and made sure to join us to do a transfer so that we could still have the birth experience we had intended. AlexAnn came to our home for all the post-natal care, including at-home visits to check on the baby. Now, we look forward to meeting other new parents at the birth center at the various events they host, such as the walk-in baby clinic and classes like infant massage. We are so glad to have such a wonderful resource in our area.”
