Dear Birth Center Clients, Families, and Community,
Opening Our Community Birth Center has been everything I dreamed it would be plus so much more. Both the amazing care the birth center provides and the demands on myself as the Executive Director and lead midwife have exceeded my expectations. This fall, I’m making a personal request for your support in donating to help hire an Executive Assistant to assist me with my workload.
Midwifing people through losses, gains, challenges and triumphs is a special honor that I relish every day. Our days (and nights!) at the birth center can be long and demanding but also filled with magic—a client saying they felt truly listened to and heard for the first time about their health concern, parents meeting their baby for the first time, an afternoon double rainbow over the birth center, and a vibrant early morning sunrise on the drive over to meet someone in labor are all moments that inspire and keep us going.
With the support of our community, we successfully launched the birth center. Now, three years into the journey, it’s time to add reinforcements to sustain us long-term in doing this work. As Executive Director, full time Nurse Midwife, and parent of two kids, my plate is overflowing. Your donations of any and all amounts will help us reach our goal of hiring an Executive Assistant. I am excited for this opportunity to gain more support and balance in my work and life as I plan to be a midwife for many years still to come!
Thank you for supporting,
AlexAnn Westlake
