Thank you for helping Build Up The Birth Center! We are excited to get to share this pre-remodel video tour of Our Community Birth Center’s new birth center building located adjacent to Island Park in Springfield, Oregon at 188 West B Street, Building O. Renovations start in June 2021 with a goal of opening for services by the end of 2021. We will keep you posted as the timeline gets more solidified.

One of the many things about this building that we are grateful for is that it already has an optimal layout for the birth center so while we do have to do renovations, we don’t have to reconfigure the whole interior. We also love that it’s close to the park, it’s centrally located in the Eugene/Springfield area, and it already has a cozy and homelike feel which we believe is one thing that makes birth centers unique and special.
We are proud that Our Community Birth Center is a birth center parent-led organization. Our Board of Directors and many of our volunteers are birth center parents. Also, we are excited that even our architect, Kira Malone from 2 Form Architecture, who is designing the remodel for our building is a birth center parent! It has made the work of designing the birth center floor plan flow very smoothly since she has personal knowledge of the purpose and services of the birth center.
